Error when istalling

"The Application "RSS Player" was not installed on the iPhone because of an unknown error occurred (0xE8008001)" This is the error that we are getting after trying to install, and we are aware of it. It may be caused by an unsigned certificate. Emails have been sent to Apple in order to resolve this. RSSPlayer 2.0 is truely awesome, we ask for your patience as we correct this issue. Keep an eye on @iphonepodcaster on Twitter, as updates will be posted.

  1. for those too impatient to wait, who are also jailbroken, you can patch out the signing check using Appsync from the cydia.hackulo.us repository in cydia

    cydia -> manage -> sources -> edit
    add source cydia.hackulo.us

then search for appsync, install and reboot and it syncs fine

  3. I knew to hold off on the update becuase I hate change, but then a day later I checked it out (today) and saw this. FAIL. Good thing even if I did try it would still work becuase I have appsync 3.0. Get jailbroken people!

    I still love the app!

  5. RSS Player seems to have dissapeared from App Store. Let's hope it's a sign the Approval has gone through and the Update is on it's way!

Looking forward to the next installment of this excellent App!

  6. Looking forward to the update. im hoping it fixes the problem whereby any podcasts added through an opml file will not search out older episodes. Only the most recent podcast will show up and clicking the 'get older episodes' comes back with 'Fin. Found 0 items'

  8. haha, Test I can sympathize with you - I am in the exact same situation : )

This app should be native to iPhone

  9. Luckily for me, I remembered TimeMachine. Went back a week and found it in iTunes Mobile Apps folder and dragged it into my current iTunes. It installed and synced over to my iPhone just fine. I can live with the old version until Apple fixes the Store glitch.

  10. Next time you should just come out with a new app and let us buy it as an upgrade. I use your app all the time and I would have no problem paying again for a new version. Plus it gives you a fail over option

  11. How can such a fundamental part of the application not be tested properly? We buy the app and try to install it and it doesn't work. How difficult would it have been to test the installation process BEFORE we purchased it. The app sounds great but the execution of it is very very poor.

  12. This is f-ing killing me. I tried podcaster 2 months ago, thought it sucked. Gave it one more try literally a DAY before 2.0 came out, and actually liked it.

2.0 comes out, and they say, hey - it's a big update, you should do a clean install. So I uninstall the version I've had for 12 hours, and f* around for an hour with this bs. My phone tells me to sync with my computer, which I HATE doing because it takes an hour and usually ends up deleting something or installing something I didn't want.

Of course that's when I find out I can't even install 2.0. Not to mention I have a jailbreak, but no, that's not going to help me anymore either. WTF is taking so long? Why can't you put a Cydia release out?

  13. I posted a link on Twitter.com/iphonepodcaster of the new version that can be installed on jailbrokn phones. Just download and ssh.

  14. Thanks for the version you put out on Twitter but I'm having a problem launching it.

I SSH's in and dropped it into Applications, but it crashes instantly.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

  15. I looooved this app, I hope it comes back better than ever! At first I thouhgt it was my phone...I tried all the things the apple support suggested (*ahem* including deleting it from both the dang phone and my computer, then went to reinstall it, AND IT WAS GOOOOONE, Noooooooo!). Of course, then I found this site, so at least I can follow the progress of it's return!!

  16. This app has been low quality all along. There is no reason to believe that this latest version will be any better. My guess is that it will be worse, and the fact that it won't even install just proves this. I've installed and updated apps 100's of times, and have never had this problem, so my guess is that it's a problem with the app itself and not the store.

  17. I have 1.4 on my phone but downloaded 2.0.x. I get the error when trying to update ... so my question is, is there a way to disable its attempts to update while synicing without deleting the app?

  18. Can't wait for the new version. Love this app. If you had double speed playback like the native player then this is all I would use! Please add double speed playback!!!

  19. Wow, almost a week with no update. I did enjoy the app while I used it, but I'll definitely be re-evaluating all podcast solutions, including just straight-up iTunes, after this debacle.

  20. Yeah, I think Kim should update the users on the progress of the current situation. I would go to alternative apps if there were any, because the lack of communication doesn't give me a warm feeling inside.

  21. I've given up. This is pretty pathetic. I just purchased the previous version a week before version 2 came out and was really starting to like it. However, after almost two weeks of failed attempts to get the new version installed, I'm not even going to try anymore.
